Robyn Crawford on Whitney Houston

I’m sure many of you, like the Passions, are still filled with restless emotion and a profound sadness over Whitney’s passing.  One person that crossed my mind immediately when I heard the news, was Robyn Crawford. Esquire featured her sentiments in a moving, loving, very tender obit.

Robyn Crawford on Whitney in ESQUIRE.

Finding photos of Robyn Crawford and Whitney together is next to impossible but I managed to dig a few up.

More recent pics of Robyn and a friend.

And The Daily Beast has a rather raw portrayal of Whitney and her relationship with Robin.  I cannot begin to imagine the amount of grief Robyn must be feeling.  The Passions holds her in our prayers.  We ALL should, because losing someone whom you’ve had such a profound and deep connection with is beyond difficult to conceive.

THE DAILY BEAST: Whitney Houston:  Anatomy of  a Lesbian Rumor.

And yet, here’s another interesting look into Whitney’s and Robyn’s relationship.  The Passions is hopeful, just like many of you, that the history/herstory of their life together, no matter how complicated, will not be erased.

And below are a few more photos of our Angel, Miss Whitney Houston.  Nippy – We hope you find all the peace you deserve and more up in Heaven.

Ms. Robyn Crawford, I love you for who you are as a person: loyal, loving, caring, and forever a friend to Ms. Whitney Houston – till death do you part. In the words of our late friend whom we all cared for and loved deeply: “Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, life never tells us the whens or why, but you have friends to wish you well, there comes a point when we EXHALE.” I am sure your friend “Nippy” is exhaling in heaven. I hope you will do the same on earth and move forward with your life – standing strong as your friend would expect. I am sure she missed you as much as you missed her, but remember in this life everything and everyone has a reason and a season. Let’s pray that her soul will rest in peace finally. The picture is clear and we should hope to meet our angel behing those pearly gates one day.

Robyn, Thank you for your words. As a new person of color in a situation that could be similar, I am humbled by the loved you two much have shared. I will follow my heart and be true to myself and the love of my life. I pray that your life is happy and content knowing that Whitney is safe in “His” arms. She always love God and I believe she always loved you! Be comforted that your life and story will serve to safe the life of another. That would be me.Thank you. Rest in Peace Whitney!

Its just a very sad situation. I mean if they really loved each other and separated because of outside influences such as religious beliefs and music industry image considerations, that is really sad.

God bless you Robyn, thanks for sharing you words with us, it is nice to know that Whitney had such a special relationship with you. Show business is a strange business. I think Whitney surrounded herself with those who knew her before she was famous, there is a built in trust in that. I think also because of that it keep her grounded, authentic. She was one of a kind, I loved her spunk, her stride and attitude and honesty. She graced this world for as long as God could leave her. She was so strong in her faith, I don’t know if she realized it but she brought a lot of people closer to the lord, me being one of them. So if she had that kind of influence on you I am sure she must visit you like she does Bobbi Kris. My prayers are with you Robyn in this most difficult time for you. May your many memories of Whitney bring comfort to you till you see her again.

Robyn , I too respect you for your letter & undying conviction, loyalty , love & a true friend to Whitney. I could not believe that Whitney passed. I cried like I knew her. I think about her everyday. I read & watch all her videos. Trying to makes sense of her death. She was so dynamic with many sides to her. I tried to figure out why she was so unhappy & when her life started spiraling out of control. When the news started coming out about her drug use I was so devasted. I said OMG!!! Not Whitney. She had to be under so much pressure to perform at the highest level all the time. She reach stardom & so much so early. It would be a matter of time she would fall. I remember her interview 2009 with Oprah you could see the sadness . She definitely a shell of herself. She lacked the spark, confidence, grace, that glow, her warm voice, her articulation when she spoke & most of all that million smile. She told Oprah she wanted her me back. And when she became Whitney Houston it too much. I have a big smile like Whitney. Someone once told me that I hide behind my smile & they could see the pain in my eyes. That was Whitney . She is now in a better place. Her smile is real & no more pain. Her one of a kind voice is back. Robyn, you were so truly blessed to have Whitney in your life. I am sure she loved you very much. Even if she could not always show it, she told you in song. May God bless you & I know you have everlasting memories that will make you smile when times are rough. Even though I did not know Whitney personally I loved her as a person. My tribute to her is a bracelet I had made. It was one of her last bracelets she wore before she passed. One made out of a cross. A symbol of her true faith. Miss you a lot Whitney. God bless you Robyn & Whitney . A true friend..love Balinda

You do realize that in those pictures titled ‘Robyn and a friend’, that is not Robyn’s friend, that is her wife Lisa Hintelmann and they live together in NJ with their two children. Robyn and Whitney were a couple for years during their youth. Obviously Whitney because extremely famous and had to hide her true relationship with Robyn so to cover up her homosexuality she married Bobby Brown of all people.
