Regina King.  Yes :).  Black Hollywood Glamor and Sophistication.

Monica looking mature and elegant.

Tatyana Ali has grown up right before our eyes.  Into ‘this.’ Wow.

Nicki Minaj.

The Passions has a weakness for Jeanette Jenkins.  A really bad one……

Lala Anthony and Selita Eubanks.  (i like sandwichs…tee-hee).

Kerry!!!  Doesn’t she have that ‘just rolled out of bed after being rocked,’ look going on?  We think so :).

LaToya Luckett and Michelle Williams.

Kim K and Beyonce.  Hey, that rhymes……

Melanie Fiona.

We love Tamia.  She is our favorite underrated singer.  She deserves more shine.

FREE POST: Some of the Passion’s Favorite Crushes for Famous, Fierce FRIDAY: Pam, Halle, Eva, Kelly, Paula and Angela

Good Morning my Divine, Delicious Darlings,

Today I wanted to keep the commentary brief and just post some of the finest chocolate we feature at the Passions.  Me thinks most of you have not seen many of these before – so – enjoy.   And Happy Friday.

Passions Mega Post for a Titillating Tuesday: with Angela,Tika, Kelly, Eve and More.

Good Morning Kittens,

We think it’s time for a chocolate-ty Mega Post!  Don’t you?

Let’s start it off with Crush Tika Sumpter posing with her girl Lala Vasquez for Derek Blank for this “Thelma and Louise,”  inspired shoot.

Do you think they captured it?  Doesn’t matter, they look good trying.

Toni and Tamar dining out in Hollyhood.

Here’s Kelly Rowland leaving the X Factor studios making it a true Titillating Tuesday by flashing us with her glorious globes.

Momma is working the girls.  And we ain’t mad about it either.

Nicole Murphy and her babies at a local pumpkin patch in L.A.  She is SO fine.

Lot’s of ladies have been celebrating their October birthdays.  Here’s Ashanti looking radiant.

Amber Rose has an October birthday.  A couple of twitpics of her party.

Looks like she is growing out her hair.  Wonder what that will do for her look and celeb status?

There are always star-studded events going on from New York City to Los Angeles.  And some of the Passion’s favorite chocolate crushes were representing quite nicely making things all the more lovely :).

Here’s Angela Bassett attending an event at The New York Academy for the Arts.

Just gorg.

The 2011 Angel Ball was another big event.  Here’s Naomi and her billionaire.

Lala and Kim K were there.

But we think Eve ‘brung it’ looking red-hot.

Werk, Eve!

But Black Girls Rock was the hottest event last week in our opinion, bringing out lovely, feminine and of course, chocolate Star Power.

Alex Wek looking fabulous!

Doesn’t Regina King’s arms make you wanna work out with her?  Looking all nice and bronzy.

Mary J. performed.  Looking just amazing.

Course we know Erykah Badu rocked it.  Don’t care what anybody says, I love her style.  AND she’s a beautiful woman.

Tatiana Ali grew up to be a glamorous young lady.

Taraji has a special place in the heart of the Passions.  Every time we see her, we always think of her tattoo in her PETA ad.  Sigh…….

And Sharon Leal was there too – another Passions Crush.  Just LOVE her 🙂

The Passions Hot Chocolate Monday Edition with Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan and More

Good Day on a Monday Morning Beautiful People,

Time to bring you up to speed with a mini-Mega post of Passion Crush favorites because it’s been a minute.

Starting us off is Angela Bassett who is returning to the stage in October in Katori Hall’s “The Mountain Top,” at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater in New York City.  I understand performances will begin prior to the opening in a few weeks so please check that and also check out the classically gorgeous, sophisticated, elegant Ms. Bassett below at a pre-show soiree.

Rihanna prior to some photoshoot.  Her follicles are much more tamer these days.

Jessica White rocking some shoes of LIFE!!!  Gimme those, Jessica!  Nothing like a fly shoe game.

Halle and her man Oliver Martinez.  Is it me or were they separated @ birth, looking like alter egos and ‘erthing?

Halle’s been getting some flack about the fact that she stays in those shorts.  But I love ’em.  The woman looks good in almost anything she has on. Besides, the Passions will never pass on a pair of amazing legs.  Never!

Sanaa Lathan at the Contagion opening this weekend.

She is certainly another one with those “classic” good looks.  She hardly ever takes a bad photo.

Kevin Hart’s “Laugh at my Pain,” drew some Black Star Power.  And naturally the Passions is only concerned with the female Black Star Power.  Gaby Union was there in this HOT black leather dress.  Yes, Leather….. 😉

Eva Marcille was there.  She toned down her follicles as well.  As always, looking marvelous. And we LOVE the dress.

Jeannette Jenkins is becoming a crush favorite for more reasons than I care to admit.  She is such a positive sister, clearly she is one class act.

The U.S. Open also attracted it’s fair share of Black Star Power.  Here’s Selita Eubanks looking just kissable.

And of course Ciara was in the House supporting her girl Serena Williams.

This morning I’m introducing Friday Finest:  THE FIFTY SERIES.  Uh huh.  Recognizing that we can be FINE and FABULOUS @ FIFTY too.  So, every now and then I’ll be changing up to make things interesting, giving shine to my favorite lovely ladies at whatever decade feels hot to me – because you can be FIFTY and be a BANGER.  Trust me.  And this morning I’m feeling Miss Angela Bassett.

This gorgeous woman fifty-two year old Goddess of Drama was born in Harlem but was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida.  A former cheerleader and member of the Debate Team, Student Government, Drama Club and Choir, she went on to become a double Yalie – a BA in African-American Studies and of course a Masters of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama.  She pursued New York theater – appearing in two August Wilson plays, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.  Moving on to film she gained recognition in Boyz in the Hood and Malcolm X but things really got hot in her portrayal of Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do With It which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress (she was the first African-American to do so) and an Academy Award nomination.

Bassett appeared in a myriad of other films like Vampire in Brooklyn alongside Eddie Murphy and Strange Days (which I happened to love) but who can forget her Bernadine Harris in Waiting to Exhale? (her lighting that car on fire was pure cinematic genius) and her more than convincing Stella in How Stella Got Her Groove Back.  We wished there were more formidable role opportunities for an actress with the incredible abundance of talent of Angela Bassett.
